2008 Season

These are photos of the trophy I received at the 2008 racing banquet for 85 Speedway in Ennis, TX on February 7, 2009. I finished the 2008 season in 5th place overall in the Cruiser division.

On the first lap, in turn two, the car in front of me started to spin, I slowed, a car clipped me, spun me, then another car (Albert McCall Jr. #7) was pushed into me and hit me head-on hard. I started in 2nd place, so there were a lot of cars behind me. There was a lot of damage to the car and I didn't get to finish racing, but I repaired it the next week. There's just cosmetic damage left.

First weekend I took the new racecar out. Ran out of time, so I didn't get to paint it yet.

Just some nice photos of me working on the engine. The car was running bad at the races the night before. Sounded and acted like I blew a head gasket.

Somehow still managed to finish the Feature in 4th place. I hit Albert McCall Jr. (#7) between turns three and four on the last lap. He had gotten sideways and I nailed him in the driver's door hard. I t-boned his driver's door. This was an unavoidable accident and while sore, thankfully he was okay. We believe he was knocked out for a few seconds.

Charley Morgan (#69) spun in front of me and I hit him head-on. Broke my front tubing (no big deal), threw a belt and overheated (no damage).

Got caught up in a wreck on the first lap in turn two. Flew off the track with two other cars (were all hung together). A few laps later, #13 caught my rear bumper, ripped it off, and spun me around. A couple laps later my right front tire blew.

Just some photos of the car the day after racing. My fan belt fell off, radiator hose blew and car overheated. Nothing was damaged other than a few minor scratches on the car.

This is the first race night before the car gets any scratches or dents. Believe me, none of the cars remain looking nice after a few nights of racing.
